Peanut oil serving as a next valuable source of renewable diesel fuels
The Diesel Nut project is a Chevron Corp. funded 5-year grant to develop renewable oil using “Diesel Nut” peanuts.
Our project includes 4 main objectives:
- Development of economics and carbon intensity estimates on the feasibility of ‘Diesel Nut’ production
- Identification, evaluation and release of germplasm adapted to multiple climatic regimes
- Cropping system and BMPs assessments for maximizing yields and oil contents of Diesel Nuts
- Deliver information generated from the projects to producers and industry partners
